To offer quality service, we prepared County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP, 2013-2017), Annual Development plan and County strategic plan. These documents are the development blue prints. CIDP has guided us to implement our development plans. We have been able to outline our programs, targets and costs. Our strategies are anchored on socio-economic developments, services delivery, trade and industry and environmental plans. Our plans have come true. We have identified viable projects and tested several ideas. Kericho is headed for economic growth, because we know the revenue streams. In addition, we have automated revenue collection, and our staff can now collect revenue efficiently. We have adopted program based budget. And it has helped us make decision among competing alternatives. As a result our departments budget and deliver services wisely. Our economic forums are beneficial. The public have suggested many ideas which we have enriched our budget. Transparency was enhanced because the public opinion about management is included. Our internal auditors are great assessors. We have managed our finance since we adopted the Risk Assessment Method. We have continuously improved the operations of our departments. We look at our suppliers as partners so that both of us succeed. For example KEMSA, have supplied and managed our products. Most of their products are delicate. To procure frequently used items, we initiated contract framework and to procure long term engagement, we initiated annual contracts. To ensure youths, women and persons with disability work with us, we initiated 30% tender procurement program and helped them register to Access Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO). This faction, in most cases, does not compete with big contractors. They have limited ability. So they compete among themselves. We offer services transparently. We advertise our jobs and tenders on our website, national media, notice board and through word of mouth. Our county assembly representatives communicate to their wards.
