Kericho County today on December 3rd 2020, joined the rest of the world in marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
This special day focused on spreading awareness on various forms of disabilities and agitating for equal participation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of development and decision making.
The theme of this year's celebrations was: _Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 World”._
The event was graced by H.E the Deputy Governor, Susan Kikwai, OGW, who urged residents to embrace persons with disabilities and stop stigmatizing them.
The DG also launched the UN 16 Days of activism against Gender Based Violence.
The activism creates awareness on the various forms of violence faced by women and young girls during the Covid-19 pandemic.
