The National Paralympic Games trials kicked off today in earnest at the Kericho Green Stadium with athletes drawn from various counties taking part in different disciplines.

The two-day event was officially flagged off by the President of Kenya National Paralympic Committee (KNPC) , Mr.Ronald Milare, and Kericho County Secretary and Head of Public Service, Dr. Wesley Bor.

Speaking on behalf of H.E.Governor, Dr. Erick Mutai, the CS assured the participants of the  government’s commitment to ensuring the event was held in a safe and secure environment and that all measures have been put in place to facilitate a successful event.

Milare on his part thanked the County Government of Kericho for accepting to host such a high-level national event noting that the meeting was a pathway to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Present during the opening ceremony was; the Chief Officer in charge of ICT, E-Government, Gender, Youth Affairs, and Sports, Mr.Geoffrey Bett, Chief of Staff, Mr. Edgar Towett and Director for Sports, Mr.Charles Ngerechi, and other top officials from the government and Athletics Kenya(AK)
