Biography
Dr Wesley Bor has a strong knowledge of the coordination of multi-sectoral health and nutrition programming mechanisms in Kenya. These include the health system; health facility and community-based nutrition services and nutrition-sensitive intervention.  Â
Dr Bor has demonstrated success in project management in previous employment both in the private and public sector including; co-creation process; strategic program planning; work planning and budgeting; financial, administrative, contractual management and oversight; relationship management with multiple clients; oversight of program monitoring and evaluation; and documentation of results for USAID-funded programs. Â
He is the founding Head of the Human Nutrition and Dietetics department, at the School of Medicine and Health Science, Kabarak University, Kenya. Dr Wesley Bor holds a PhD degree MSc and BSc degree in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics from Kenyatta University. Wesley has taught in the University for five (5) years. Moreover, Wesley has supervised to graduation of five (5) Master of Science postgraduate students in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and two (2) PhD now at the proposal stage. Â
He is the current Chair of the Board of Directors, Konnect Youth Consortium (KYC) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Kericho and Narok Counties, South Rift Valley province of Kenya. KYC implements HIV/AIDS Prevention, Sexual and Reproductive Health Services, peacebuilding, and economic strengthening programmes targeting young people. KYCâs mission is to serve as an empowerment centre for the youth and communities, equipping them with Life-enhancing skills through economic empowerment, leadership & governance, health, and environmental conservation programmes aimed at making them productive and self-reliant. Â
Prior to joining Kabarak University, He Coordinated the Nutrition program for the Presidential Emergency Fund for Aids Relief (PEPFAR) Walter Reed project in South Rift Valley for a period of 6 years working with the program in networking with the National, County government and development partners both local and international. While working for the PEPFAR SRV project, Wesley was appointed regional site improvement through monitoring systems (SIMS) manager where he was leading a team carrying out site-specific monitoring and evaluation of clinical activities with the objective of quality improvement in service delivery. Wesley has technical and practical competencies in programme coordination, training as well as Monitoring and Evaluation. Â
Dr Bor is a member of the Nutrition Technical working group at the national and is currently involved in the revision of guidelines for managing covid-19.
