Basic Oncology Clinic Groundbreaking



In an effort to contribute towards the fight against Cancer and other Non-communicable Diseases, the County Government of Kericho today broke the ground for the construction of a Basic Oncology Clinic at Kericho County Referral Hospital(KCRH). H.E the Governor, Dr. Eric Mutai while presiding over the event said the facility will be a stop gap measure in provision of palliative care to cancer patients who for a long time been undergoing challenges in accessing even the basic care. Later, the Governor who was flanked by his Deputy, H.E. Eng. Kirui Fredrick and a host of MCAs, toured the proposed site for the construction of a Ksh. 68m Comprehensive Chronic Disease and Oncology Hospital together with a Mother & Child Health Hospital, also situated at KCRH. The County boss said cancer is a silent killer and causes devastating economic impact to families and community.
